Do you recycle glass or plastic?
Not at this time.

Do you take 55 gallon drums and other containers?
Due to possible hazardous conditions, we do not accept 55 gallon drums at this time.

How many aluminum cans are in a pound?
It takes approximately 25-33 cans to make a pound.  The number of cans it takes to make a pound varies depending on the size of the can.  Beer cans are made out of a lighter weight aluminum than soda cans, so it takes more of them to equal one pound.

What is the difference between clean and dirty metals?
Clean metals are free from any other metals or impurities.  Metals are considered dirty when there is any other grade of metal attached to it.  The most common example is Dirty Aluminum.  Dirty Aluminum has screws, nails, rivets, or any other metals attached to it.  When metal is referred to as dirty, that doesn’t mean you need to get out a bar of soap and start scrubbing.  Your most likely cleaning tool will be a screwdriver.

How do I know for sure if my metal is clean?
The easiest way to detect if your aluminum, stainless, brass, or copper is clean is to use a magnet.   If a magnet sticks to anything attached to your metal, then it is considered dirty.  If the magnet doesn’t stick, then it can be considered clean.  One exception to this rule is if stainless steel is attached to the aluminum, it will not stick to the magnet, but it is still considered dirty.

What is the difference between prepared and unprepared scrap iron?
Prepared scrap iron is material that has been cut down in length to fit mill specifications, which in most cases means it does not exceed 4 feet in length.

Do you receive the city curbside recycling?
Yes we do. We encourage all citizens of Twin Falls to help promote recycling by taking advantage of the City's curbside recycling program. However, if you prefer, you can always bring your cardboard, paper and cans directly to our facility.
